Unzicker Brothers Pottery is located just outside of Thorntown in central Indiana. The pottery produces a wide range of functional and decorative stoneware. The majority of our work is fired in a large 900 cubic foot wood-burning kiln, which creates a unique natural ash glaze. We also fire some work in a smaller gas fueled kiln using high temperature glazes. Our approach to making pottery is heavily influenced by pre-industrial American and Asian pottery, but isn't tied to one particular tradition. Our work continues to change as our interests evolve and new insights are gained. Gallery hours at our shop are 9-5 Monday through Saturday, and visitors are always welcome.
